As a 22-member group of physicians at Pediatric Anesthesia, P.A., we have each completed comprehensive pediatric anesthesiology fellowships, making us the only pediatric anesthesiology practice dedicating 100% of our medical care to pediatric patients in the Twin Cities.Â

For over 40 years, we've been the cornerstone of specialized pediatric anesthesiology in the region.
1972: Inception
Pediatric Anesthesia, P.A. (PAPA) traces its roots back to the hiring of the first fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologist in the state of Minnesota in 1972 at Minneapolis Children’s Medical Center (MCMC).
1987: St. Paul Expansion
PAPA was asked to bring our expertise to St. Paul to provide anesthesiology services at Gillette Children’s Hospital, focusing on complex musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions.
1994: Commitment to Innovation
PAPA was asked to design and provide anesthetic care at the newly established ambulatory surgery center - Children’s Minnesota Surgery Center in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Pivotal Merger
The merger of MCMC and Children’s Hospital of St. Paul formed the current Children’s Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics, the largest pediatric health care provider in the Upper Midwest.
2024: Continued Expansion
PAPA began providing office-based anesthesia care at Wise Decision, an oral surgery center in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
